snackaroo :: great, inexpensive steaks
it's exam week once again, and by torrow, i won't have time to do anything but be so buried in books, notes and transcriptions. argh! mondays are the worst, i think. after almost a whole school year, i don't think i've still gotten used to the whole 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. pedia schedule followed by the 3-5 pm o.b. schedule.
on the upside, i just came home from a good dinner with pao (what else is new? haha). it wasn't another fine dining experience, but who could not be happy with a steak dinner? on days when we want good, inexpensive food, there are just a few places we choose from (mcdonald's, kfc, jollibee and the like not included). i forgot to mention the fast (or semi-fast, for that matter) part too, since more often than not, after a whole day of class for me and an 8 or 36-hour duty for him, all we wanna do is have a quick dinner so we could both go home and sleep.
we both felt like steak tonight, so we headed over to snackaroo which is on one of the side streets along kamuning. known for thier t-bone and porterhouse steaks, as expected, the place was packed with people ranging from students to yuppies to the people from the older bracket. of course, they serve more than just that. there are also numerous other dishes though mostly filipino.

while suddenly there seems to be numerous steak places that have recently opened, the reason why we keep coming back to snackaroo is that the steaks, for their price (t-bone is about P120.00), are really good. not to mention huge. the meat is tender and definitely not gummy, with ample amounts of fatty portions that are just enough to make it tender.
snackaroo's t-bone steak
total bill for a t-bone with one soup, one rice and a coke is about P160.00. not bad for a good steak dinner huh? of course, for it's price, don't expect the kind of restaurant that comes complete with the dim lighting, posh furniture and romantic ambience. snackaroo couldn't be farther away from the stereotypical steak house. it's not airconditioned and is along one of the bigger roads leading to e.rodriguez.
a
then again, if you don't really mind the jeepneys passing by (which can even hardly be heard if you're on the inside), snackaroo's a great place to have a fast and inexpensive but really good steak dinner.
